At the end of Washington Boulevard, where Los Angeles’ streets merge into the ocean, the Venice Pier begins. The rough concrete pier braves Pacific storms and provides stillness and stablity to its visitors. Here, we meet two immigrants who take us on their journey through history.
Nora Fingscheidt (1983) spent her youth in Germany and Argentina. As a board member of the independent film school filmArche in Berlin she organized international film projects and directed her own short films. From 2007 to 2008 she was trained as an acting coach in Berlin. Since 2008 she has been studying feature film directing at Film Academy Baden-Württemberg. Her short SYNCOPE was shown at many festivals and nominated for the German Short Film Award.
