Istanbul 2014: Asli, a young woman, gives shelter to a political activist, who got into a fight with the cops. The police investigates on the case and ends up questioning Asli and her family. The situation escalates as she is not willing to cooperate.

Biography/Filmography:

Ilker Çatak was born in 1984 in Berlin. He then lives in Istanbul where he does his Abitur before moving back to Berlin to study film&television directing. His bachelor thesis on the turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan was published in 2010. In 2011 he was granted a scholarship from German national TV where he wrote his first feauture film. In the meantime he also directs commercials. In 2012 he took a Master‘s Degree in film directing at the Hamburg Media School. The last short film he directed, „Where We Are“, received the best short film award of the Murnau foundation, the Max-Ophüls Award in 2014 and was one of the ten finalists for the 2014 Student Academy Award.
