A man rages at the memories of war, border crossings, beatings and asylum, and at the hard years spent finding his place in a foreign land. He rages at the cosmic cruelty of having gone through all this for his loved ones, who died crossing the sea before they could join him.
Nayeem Mahbub is a Bangladeshi filmmaker. A former Erasmus Mundus film scholar, he has worked with the BBC and in the animation industry in Bangladesh. He is the co-founder of Unlocked Films, an international documentary association based in Austria. “Borders” play a large role in his work. He produced and co-directed the TV documentary "A Day in Dhaka" (2010) for BBC Bangla. He also wrote and directed the international award-winning Bangladeshi animation film "Murgi Keno Mutant" (2011). His first European documentary, "The Wait" (2012), screened in several festivals including Doclisboa. He is currently working on the post-production of "The Valley", which was filmed in Hungary.
