Conceived out of the experience of the Lecture on "Violence Against Women" held by the Philosophy Department of the University of Bologna, Di genere umano poetically mixes voices and faces of intellectuals, students and citizens with old tapes, footage of the city, children dialogues. A concert of points of view that reaches the heart.
Germano Maccioni (Bologna, 1978) is director, screenwriter and actor and works for cinema and theatre with Giancarlo Cobelli, Kim Rossi Stuart, Franco Branciaroli, Giorgio Diritti and Franco Maresco. Between 2007 and 2008 he directs the documentary Lo stato di eccezione, presented at the Venice Days of the Venice Film Festival. The film is followed by My Main Man – appunti per un film sul jazz a Bologna (2009), I giorni scontati (2012), Fedele alla linea (2013) and L'uomo amico (2014). He’s currently working on his first feature film of fiction, Gli asteroidi.
