Guang is a story about two brothers. The elder brother, Wen Guang is Autistic. Wen Guang is often misunderstood. Above all, he suffers from attention deficiency disorder, struggles with social interaction, and has difficulty performing day to day obligations. He also has a secret passion. To make ends meet, Wen Guang is coerced by his younger brother into looking for a job to share his burden on meeting their monthly expenses. Throughout the film we see Wen Guang searching for a job, his daily routines and his secret passion as he searches for the final glass that will bring him a simple, pure, hard earned, fleeting moment of joy.
Biography/Filmography:
Shio Chuan Quek comes from the rural town of Batu Pahat situated at the Southern region of Malaysia. Graduated with a bachelor in communications (HONS) Broadcasting from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman. 26 years of age in 2012, he is currently employed as a line producer of Reservoir Production Sdn Bhd, a commercial film production company. His passion in film making has seen him taking up several other titles in production whenever opportunity arises ranging from offline editor, graphic artist, assistant director & film director. His first short film after graduation entitled "Guang" has won multiple awards in the longest running and most prestigious short film competition in Malaysia, BMW shorties 2011. Shio Chuan is looking forward to showcase "Guang" internationally.
