Biography/Filmography:
Peque Varela was born in Spain in 1977. She is a London based filmmaker who graduated from the National Film and Television School in Animation Direction. She has been working in advertisement as a freelance animator and director for five years. Her graduation film, “1977”, has been awarded 15 prizes all around the world and has participated in the official competitions of prestigious festivals such as Sundance Film Festival and Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival. “Gato encerrado” is her first independent film.
