Benito Eufemia trains every day, mornings and evenings, in a small gymnasium in the middle of “El Clot”, one of the most popular districts of Barcelona. Heʼs 38 and heʼs going to fight very soon.
Biography/Filmography:
Juanjo Gimenez was born in Barcelona. He has a degree in Economics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and studied cinema at the Center for Cinematografic Studies of Catalunya (CECC). In 1994 he made his first short film «Hora de Cerrar» (Closing Time) and founded the production company Salto de Eje SL. Some shorts directed by Juanjo are: «Special (when lit)» (1994), «Velada» (1995), «She's Angry» (1996), «Indirect Free Kick» (1997), «Máxima Pena» (2005), «Nitbus» (2007) and «Rodilla» (2009). His shorts have obtained many awards (more than 100), in Spanish and international festivals. His first feature film was «Nos hacemos falta - Tilt» (2003) awarded also in Roma, Ourense and Las Palmas. He also produced “My grandmother’s house” winner of Amsterdam’s IDFA in 2005 and nominated for the European Academy Awards, and “Estigmas” (2009) both directed by Adan Aliaga, among other features and documentaries. His last work as a director is the documentary “Dodge and Hit”, about the life of boxer Benito Eufemia.
