“Things today are not as they were yesterday nor as they will be tomorrow”. This sentence summarizes the despair and resignation of the ex fishermen of Muynag, a small town on the ex shores of the Lake Aral. The village, by now abandoned, and his inhabitants are victims of an unstoppable environmental disaster which has been taking place for decades.
Antonio Martino (1977), young independent director who won the prize Ilaria Alpi in 2007, has been making documentaries on the complex relationship between man and the environment for years. Among his works we find: Niguri (2010), Be water, my friend (2009), “Pancevo_mrtva grad” (2007), “Gara de Nord-copii de strada” (2006), “Blu Panorama” (2005), “Noi siamo l'aria, non la terra” and “Fatma aba Ad” (2004), “Siamo Fatti Così” (2003), “Colorado” (2001).
