Helmut is celebrating his 60th birthday. Actually, he is 57. His wife, Gertrud, miscalculated. While the facade of his narrow-minded domesticity is crumbling, old friends pass by, facing Helmut with his past - a bizarre declaration of love to transience.
Nicolas Steiner was born in 1984 and grew up in a small town in the Swiss Alps. In his high school years he had the chance to take part in several Swiss fiction movies as an actor. He also played in different bands and combos as a drummer, and served in the Swiss Military in an army music corps. He then worked as an intern at radio station, he did work shops with Blueman group and Stomp. For two summers he worked in his hometown as a grave digger. In 2005 and 2006 he attended the European Film College in Denmark and then studied for one year social anthropology, film science and politics at the Zuerich University. Since October 2007 he is studying directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in Ludwigsburg, Germany.
