SECURITY by Lars Henning                                               

This work was chosen as winner for the delicacy in handling complex feelings like compassion and altruism, showing their incompatibility with the reality of our production system. The roles of victim and tormentor gets swapped, and understanding and sympathy are finally defeated and censored, after having just timidly appeared.

Special mention by the jury for international short movie

ADJUSTMENT by Ian Mackinnon                                      

The Jury has decided to specially mention the film Adjustment for its originality both in style and narration. In particular it was appreciated the ability to merge together live action and different animation techniques, some of which really amazing.

SIX CONCEPTIONS OF FREEDOM by Thomas Ostbye           

The Jury has decided to choose Six conceptions of freedom as best documentary because it tells life as it is, not as we would like it to be or as we imagine it to be. The narration is free and original, avoiding prejudices and clichés too often linked to the idea of freedom. The director is open and ready to simply capture reality, while at the same time demonstrates great ability in narratively organizing images and characters.

The Jury has decided to specially mention A verdade du gato because it handles a difficult social theme using a style both dry and essential.

LA MEMORIA DEI CANI by Simone Massi                      

The prize has been given to this film for the special quality of the animation, and the strength of the director’s unique style.
