The jury has also awarded Brothers by Isabel Grunwald ( produced by the Zelig school in Bolzano) with a special mention, for the film narration grace and refinement in depicting the conflictual and inextricable relationship between two brothers.

BEST ITALIAN SHORT FILM

Vietato fermarsi

by Pierluigi Ferrandini

vietato fermarsiThe jury underlines the good technical level of the italian production, but points out the common tendency of the films taking part to the competition to rely too much on narrative processes to the detriment of the genuineness and necessity of the story. That being stated, the jury regards to assign the prize to Vietato fermarsi by Pierluigi Ferrandini because, despite its thinness, it voices with sincerity and spontaneity the weaving between the mood of the character and the socio-historical dimension, thanks to the measure of the visual choices.

BEST FOREIGN SHORT FILM

Elvis and I

by Michael Sommer

elvis and iThe jury has unanimously chosen t ogive the prize to the short film Elvis and I, by the German director Michael Sommer. This work stands out for the originalità of the subject, for the brilliant script and for the use of an ironical and surreal language, which succeeds in depicting a wide range of sharp, convincing and peculiar characters, without falling off into triviality and satisfaction. In addition to this, a measured and enthralling plot stands out, with a great stylistic and narrative completeness.
