She too belongs to the losers but has a totally different view on life. Much more awake and active she goes through life always waiting for the one grand moment. Attracted by her energy Joe finds himself wanting to be close to her. The city that a moment ago was sad and cold now becomes an adventure and a challenge.

The main people affected by this situation are the women, who have to put up with prevailing male chauvinism in the Madagascan society, some of them suffering abuse and being abandoned by their husbands. Without any economic resources of any kind, they survive on the streets, doing little jobs or thanks to money received from begging by them or their children; in some cases they resort to prostitution.
